Role:
This role’s primary responsibility is to lead the Healthcare & Senior Living Sales Team in the Region to drive sustainable sales growth and profitability. Contribute to operational efficiency in the Healthcare & Senior Living team by identifying growth opportunities with new and existing customers. Building and maintaining effective relations with Key Healthcare & Senior Living Accounts and Key Healthcare & Senior Living Associations is critical to creating and maintaining a strong presence in the Healthcare market. This individual will be working closely with Sysco Canada Healthcare team to support Sales, Chain development and Marketing and Systems initiatives.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Healthcare & Senior Living Sales team regarding performance, priorities, development, and attaining sales goals/targets.
- Manages entire Healthcare Territory for National Sales; territories are not limited to healthcare and may contain other National Sales accounts.
- Assign accounts to Account Executive’s as required.
- Main liaison/contact person for National Healthcare Head Office’s and Sysco National Healthcare Team.
- Key contact for healthcare related industry events and associates along with organizing healthcare shows, product showings, food shows, and training days.
- Responsible for communicating and presenting healthcare promotions, ideas, and objectives to members of the Healthcare & Senior Living Team.
- Liaise between customers and manufacturers for customer samplings.
- Promotes Sysco brand items and newly listed products.
- Review new items for listing along with reviewing all contracts and pricing programs to ensure pre-tax targets are being met.
- Promotes and organizes STIR sessions and assists team in reaching the regional goals.
- Reviews and promote items in Foodie and Nourish newsletter.
- Oversee and complete proposals, tenders, and healthcare contracts for existing and new business opportunities.
- Develops flyers and sell sheets for new Sysco Brand and regular products.
- Ensures quarterly plans for Chains and bi-annual/annual objectives set out in the annual review to ensure financial targets for sales, margins and other variables are met.
- Maintain and understand customer Master Distribution Agreements (MDA) and ensures all service obligations in the agreement are fulfilled.
- Addresses and resolve customer issues.
- Addresses and ensure outstanding AR is up to date.
- Identifies training requirements for team as well as customers with respect to Sysco related systems.
- Liaise with National Sales Canada VP National Account’s / National Account Manager’s
- Assist with the implementation of new processes, procedures and tools and ensuring understanding with team
- Support Account Executives with additional customer communication if required
- Review Accounts Receivable status with Account Executives
- Accountable for the accuracy of timecards, approvals and scheduling of direct reports
- Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- Minimum of three (3+) years’ work experience in a sales role.
- Minimum of three (3+) years’ experience in a leadership capacity.
- Healthcare experience in dietary, acute or long-term care is an asset.
- Post-Secondary business-related Degree or Diploma as asset.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and other sales and/or industry specific programs.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required.
- Travel needed as required locally and/or to surrounding areas.
